How to Request Your Medication?
Requesting pain medications remains one of the biggest concerns that our patients have. There is a lot of anxiety concerning medication refills. How to do it? When to do it? Did the office get my request? And so forth. At Specialists in Pain Care, we do our best to ally those concerns. When you interact with the office, you will get a text message stating that your request was received. When your request has been processed, we will send you another text message. It is our goal to provide a worry free, seamless process. However, patients need to do their part too.
In this brief tutorial, we will go over the patient responsibilities when requesting a refill of your medication. Following these simple guidelines will greatly ensure a hassle free process and you — our patient — getting your medication on time.
As always, medication refills are contingent upon review and approval by the medical staff. This is not a guarantee that your request will be fulfilled.
When should I request a refill?
At least 7 days before the old RX expires and allow 3 business days for processing.
How do I request a refill?
1) Go to the Patient Portal
2) Under the Medication Section look for the form entitled: “I Want to Refill My Medication”
3) Complete the form making sure your credentials are correct
This whole process should take less than 60 seconds!
What happens after I submit the form?
Once you “hit” submit on the form, your request is then processed by the staff. We do check for the appropriateness of the refill, past and upcoming appointments, and account balances. Medication refill requests are contingent upon review and approval by the medical staff. Please allow 3 business days for processing.
How will I know when my prescription is ready?
Once your request is processed, Specialists in Pain Care will send you a text message. If you have the e-prescribing service, your pharmacy will alert you when your medication is ready for pick up at the pharmacy. If you have an in-office pickup, the text message will remind you of the times when your prescription can be picked up.
I have in-office pick up. When can I pick up my prescription?
If you are picking up your prescription at the office, you may come to the office during the following times:

- Monday 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

- Tuesday 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Friday 8:OO AM to 3:00 PM
