Don’t Be A No Show!
No shows and late cancellations can be a significant problem for a medical practice. It is estimated that most medical practices see no show rates as high as 25% every day! A “no show” means that the patient did not present to the office for their appointment and that the patient also failed to notify the office within a timely fashion that they were going to miss the appointment.
Patients who no show their appointments are very disruptive to a medical practice. First, that vacant spot does not get filled, and in this day and age of high volume medicine, a no show patient does not give sufficient time to offer that slot to another patient in need.
Second, a common practice to combat the no show problem is to over book the doctor’s schedule. This leads to long waits in crowded waiting rooms, rushed providers, and angry patients.
At Specialists in Pain Care, this is not how we like to practice medicine. We want to be able set aside enough time to provide you with the highest quality care.
PLEASE KEEP YOUR APPOINTMENTS!! DON’T BE A NO SHOW!
If you need to cancel, please have the courtesy to contact the office no later than 24 hours (1 business day) prior to your scheduled appointment. When you do not call to cancel an appointment, you are preventing another patient from getting much needed treatment.
CANCELLATION AND NO SHOW POLICY
1. We understand that situations arise in which you must cancel your appointment. It is therefore requested that if you must cancel your appointment you provide more than 24 hours (1 business day) notice.
2. If less than a 24-hour cancellation is given, this will be documented as a “No-Show” appointment.
3. If you do not present to the office for your appointment, this will be documented as a “No-Show” appointment.
4. If you have 2 “No-Show” appointments within a one-year time period, dismissal from the practice will be considered.
